About #JusticeForReba

Justice for Reba was created after the horrific death of Reba, the English Bulldog. She was duct taped in a plastic storage tote and left to die in the searing 100+ degree Las Vegas heat.

Nevada ranks 30th in terms of animal protection laws in the United States, which underscores the urgent need for more stringent legislation in our state. Such brutality and indiscriminate violence toward domestic animals cannot be dismissed with a mere fine or temporary imprisonment. We demand that the Nevada legislature take decisive action on this issue to ensure that tragic incidents like Reba's never happen again.

We are a new organization that is not affiliated with any of the animal rescue groups. We are an independant group that was created after the brutal murder of Reba. We simply could not stand on the sidelines any longer and watch cases like Raba continue to happen.

We will be pushing Carson City to create "Reba's Bill" that will strenghten the penaties for any type of animal abandonment, neglect, abuse or death. You can help by Making Your Voice Heard and SIGN THE PETITION to change Animal Cruelty Laws in Nevada.

Nevada State Laws

The penalties are listed in the NRS below, but we wanted to point out the absurdities of the law's in Nevada.

(b) For the SECOND OFFENSE within the immediately preceding 7 years, is guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be sentenced to:

(c) For the THIRD AND SUBSEQUENCE OFFENSE within the immediately preceding 7 years, is guilty of a category C felony and shall be punished as provided in NRS 193.130. A category C felony is a felony for which a court shall sentence a convicted person to imprisonment in the state prison for a minimum term of not less than 1 year and a maximum term of not more than 5 years. In addition to any other penalty, the court may impose a fine of not more than $10,000, unless a greater fine is authorized or required by statute.

So... It takes someone hurting or killing an animal 3 TIMES in order to have any sort of punishment in Nevada!! But only if they do it within 7 years. Absolutely disgusting!!
